PermaQR exists because of a small, infuriating pattern: people make a “free” QR code, print it on wedding invitations, restaurant menus, or business cards — and weeks later it dies behind a paywall they never knew existed. The code they printed wasn't really theirs. It pointed at a company's redirect server, and the company turned it off.
This site does one thing, permanently: it generates static QR codes — codes where your data is encoded directly into the pattern itself. The generation happens entirely in your browser, on your device. We never see your data, there is no account, and there is no server that can revoke your code later. What you download is yours, forever.
How we make money (full transparency)
Generating your codes costs us nothing — your device does the work. The site earns money in exactly one way today: if you genuinely need a dynamic QR service (scan analytics, editable destinations) and sign up with a provider through one of our clearly-marked affiliate links, we may earn a commission. That's it. We will never convert your codes to a paid plan, because we technically can't — we don't have them.
The one honest caveat
A static QR code cannot expire, but if it encodes a link, the code is only as alive as the destination. Point your codes at pages you control, keep those pages up, and your printed codes will outlive us all. More in our guide: do QR codes expire?
